Description

This peptide has originally been isolated from the sexually mature thoracic nervous system of the locust, Schistocerca gregaria. In analogy to leucomyosuppressin, it functions as a potent cardioinhibitory agent. It also inhibits the contraction of the locust oviduct visceral muscle, but has potentiating effects on the extensortibiae muscle.
