Description

Dmt=2,6-dimethyl-L-tyrosineSS-31 peptide is a cardiolipin peroxidase inhibitor and mitochondrial targeting peptide. It improves left ventricular and mitochondrial function. SS-31 peptide attenuates mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative damage in human trabecular meshwork cells. It prevents H2O2-induced sustained oxidative stress in iHTM and GTM(3) cells. Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of chronic heart failure and mitochondrial myopathy are ongoing.
